Carpentry

CPC30211 Certificate III IN Carpentry

This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

Occupational titles may include:

  • Carpenter
  • Carpenter and joiner

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.

Course Duration

It is anticipated this course will take up to 36 months to complete, depending on the delivery method and course attendance from the student.  Levels of experience and any additional prior Qualifications in a relevant industry may also affect timeframes.

Delivery Options

This course is offered via the following method across South-East Queensland:

Flexible workplace delivery: (must be working in the industry)

  • Self-paced learning (approximately 5 hours per week)
  • Regular Trainer/Assessor contact through phone calls, texts, workplace visits and email

Recognition of prior learning options may also be applicable depending on experience

Students are supported with:

  • Access to a dedicated Trainer/Assessor until the program is completed
  • Hard copy Learner Guides and Workbooks
  • Access to additional support through the course program department on 1300 852 852

Entry Requirements

Participants are to supply their own suitable protective clothing, including safety boots.

If undertaking as an apprenticeship, participants must have entered into a QLD Apprenticeship contract.
