CPC40110 Certificate IV IN Building and Construction (Building)

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses.

The builder may also be the appropriately licensed person with responsibility under the relevant building licensing authority in the State or Territory. (Builder licensing varies across States and Territories and additional requirements to attain this licence may be required.)

Occupational titles may include:

  • Builder
  • Construction manager

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry plus elective units.  A total of 16 units is required.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Builder licencing varies across States and Territories and additional requirements to attainment of this licence may be required.  Please check with your local regulatory body.

Course Duration

It is anticipated this course will take 6 months to complete, however the duration may extend up to 12 months.  Levels of experience and any additional prior qualifications in a relevant industry may also affect time frames.

Delivery Options

This course is offered via the following methods in various locations across South-East Queensland:

Flexible Delivery:

  • Self paced online learning (suggested 8 hours a week)
  • Trainer contact every 2 weeks
  • Trainer one on one contact as required

Group Based Delivery:

  • Weekly 2 hour classroom sessions for 6 months
  • Self paced online learning (Suggested 6 hours per week)

Students have access to a dedicated trainer through face to face, email and phone.
