Civil Construction

RII30919 Certificate III IN Civil Construction

** NEW ENROLMENTS CURRENTLY PAUSED INTO THE BELOW PROGRAM**

This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in Civil construction and has core unit of competency to cover common skills for the construction industry, and elective units to cover specialist fields of work.

Construction Industry Training has customised their electives to cover 2 specialist occupations being pipe laying and road construction and maintenance.

Occupational titles may include:

  • Civil Construction Pipe Layer
  • Civil Road Construction and Maintenance worker
  • Civil Construction Labourer

The qualification has 7 core units of competency plus 18 elective units of competency. A total of 25 units of competency are required

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires most units of competency to be delivered in this context.

A construction “White Card”, the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (or its equivalent) covers this requirement.
