Civil Construction Supervision

RII40715 IN Civil Construction Supervision

This qualification reflects the role of employees working in supervisory positions in civil construction. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others, contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems and apply management plans to the workplace.

Occupational titles may include:

  • Civil Contruction Supervisor
  • Road Construction Supervisor

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the civil construction industry plus elective units.  A total of 12 units is required.

Course Duration

It is anticipated this course may take up to 12 months to complete.   Employment status and experience may reduce this time frame.

Delivery Options

This course is offered via the following methods in the QLD regions of Sunshine Coast, Greater Brisbane and Darling Downs/Toowoomba:

Flexible Delivery:

  • Self paced online learning (suggested 8 hours a week)
  • Regular Trainer/Assessor contact through phone calls, text and email
  • Face to face visits offered as required

Group Based Delivery: (may not be offered in all locations)

  • Fortnightly 3hr classes for 6 months
  • Self paced online learning (Suggested 6 hours per week)
  • Group tutorial sessions as required to support students

Student Support

Students are supported with:

  • Access to a dedicated Trainer/Assessor to support progress
  • A Student Handbook located on this website to inform students of their rights and responsibilities including the refund policy
  • Access to additional support through the course program department on 1300 852 852

Entry Requirements

Participants must have working experience in the building and construction industry.  For specific eligibility requirements surrounding possible funding available go to QLD Funding.
