This qualification provides a trade outcome in concreting, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

Occupational titles may include:

  • Concreter
  • Concrete Pump Operator

This qualification has 15 core units of competency, as well as 5 elective units. A total of 20 units are required to be completed to achieve the qualification.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment, and therefore this qualification requires most units of competency to be delivered in this context

The general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) (otherwise known as a White Card) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of the unit “CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in The Construction Industry” (or its equivalent) covers this requirement.
